The Public Works Division (DPW) manages almost all of the building construction and maintenance projects for Indianapolis. This number was calculated by subtracting the water areas and areas of impervious surfaces from each neighborhood boundary. The Indianapolis Department of Public Works does not collect information on impervious surfaces for the communities of Beech Grove, Lawrence, Southport, and Speedway.
