On August 2, The Polis Center hosted five visitors from Bangladesh traveling to the U.S. under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program. They are visiting three cities to learn more about preserving cultural heritage and memory in the digital age. The visitors were accompanied by the Department of State team and a liaison from the International Center in Indy. Polis Interim Executive Director Sharon Kandris, Skip Comer, IU School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI Media Arts & Science Research Associate, and Polis Interim Community Analysis Director Matt Nowlin presented information about Polis and the digital Encyclopedia of Indianapolis.
