Polis continues to partner with the Indianapolis Public Library and several civic partners on the Digital Encyclopedia of Indianapolis. Polis builds the technology to support virtual exhibits, encyclopedia entries, timelines and more, while editors at the library curate and build the content. The newest addition includes a virtual exhibit, Murals for Racial Justice. This project was an immediate response to protests that erupted in downtown Indianapolis and other urban areas worldwide after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, on May 25, 2020. We are also creating visualizations for a Religion Atlas that visually depicts the changes in the religious landscape, congregational growth, and movements in the Indianapolis metro area. The work includes creation of the web map, dashboards, dynamic graphics, and story maps.
