PrintThe first SAVI Talks! event of 2016 was held June 30 at WFYI and covered IndyVitals, the new web-based neighborhood monitoring tool created by the Polis Center for the Plan 2020 bicentennial initiative. Speakers included Brad Beaubien, Long Range Planning Administrator, City of Indianapolis; Brooke Thomas, Deputy Director, the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, Sharon Kandris, Director of Community Informatics, the Polis Center at IUPUI; and Leigh Evens, CEO, Mapleton-Fall Creek Development Corporation.

The presentation addressed how and why Plan 2020 members initiated the need for such a planning tool and featured a demonstration of the IndyVitals tool and a simulated exercise for audience members so they could experience how IndyVitals reveals neighborhood assets and issues of concern and learn how it can be used to improve their neighborhoods.’
